One El Paso couple will have a very “marry” Christmas this year!

Local soldier Jesus Beltran was deployed for more than two years before he returned home for the holidays this week.

Surrounded by loved ones and mariachis, Beltran proposed to his girlfriend, Nohemi Perales, Wednesday night in San Jacinto Plaza.

“Nohemi, you’re the love of my life and I really want to spend the rest of my life with you,” he said as he got down on one knee. “Will you marry me?”

Perales replied with a tearful “yes!”

“I’m just really glad he’s here,” Perales told KTSM.

Beltran says he plans to finish his time in the Army and start a family with Perales right here in El Paso.
