Republican incumbent Ted Cruz is the projected winner in the race for Texas Senate, according to NBC News.

So far, Cruz has earned 50.91 percent of the vote compared to O’Rourke’s 48.45 percent.

More than 4.8 million ballots were cast during the 12-day early voting period in Texas, largely surpassing the total turnout of the 2014 midterms.
