Senator Ted Cruz hosts rally in El Paso

Elections 2018

Incumbent Senator Ted Cruz visited the Sun City Saturday night

Cruz spoke to a crowd of about 2,000 people at a rally at Franklin High School.

During the event, the senator told supporters that there are a lot more conservatives than liberals who believe in common sense values — something he says his opponent, El Paso Congressman Beto O’Rourke, opposes.

“My record in the senate for six years I fought every day for lower taxes, lower regulations, more jobs, more opportunity,” Cruz said. “My opponent, Congressman O’Rourke, has fought every day for higher taxes, higher regulations, which kills jobs and isn’t good for Texas.”

Cruz was originally scheduled to visit El Paso two weeks ago, but scrapped the event due to the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court proceedings.

The latest Quinnipiac poll shows Cruz leading O’Rourke by nine points.
