Woman allegedly gave infant Hydrocodone: El Paso Police

An El Paso woman is accused of feeding crushed up Hydrocodone pills to a 5-month-old girl.

Sapphire Elizabeth Araujo, 34, was arrested on Nov. 20 after an investigation, that began with a report from Child Protective Services, found Araujo had crushed Hydrocodone pills and fed it to the infant.

She was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on suspicion of Abandoning or Endangering a Child with a $100,000 bond.

The baby was treated at a local hospital and has since fully recovered.
