Police release photo of Fort Bliss soldier arrested in deadly Northeast El Paso stabbing


Police have released the mugshot of the man arrested in the deadly stabbing in Northeast El Paso last weekend.

As KTSM previously reported, the stabbing happened at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the Bungalows Apartments located on the 4600 block of Loma del Sur.

Torian Davis, 22, was arrested in connection with the incident.

A 25-year-old woman, whose name was not released, died from her injuries at University Medical Center.

Two men, Anthony Velasco, 21, and Jared Abes, 23, were injured but are expected to recover.

KTSM has confirmed that all three men are soldiers stationed at Fort Bliss. Davis and Velasco are both Specialists, while Abes is a First Lieutenant.

According to police, the woman, Velasco and Davis were drinking alcoholic beverages and doing drugs when Davis allegedly slashed Velasco’s throat and stabbed the woman.

Abes had just arrived and parked when Davis allegedly assaulted him, police said. 

According to a news release, Davis was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on Wednesday and is charged with one count of murder, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of aggravated assault causing bodily injury.

His total bond is set at $1 million.
