Police responded to an shooting involving an El Paso Police officer in East El Paso Monday morning.
According to police, the shooting happened in the 2900 block of Trawood Drive near the intersection of George Dieter.
Police said they responded to a shots fired call at about 4:52 a.m. When they arrived, there was a man in a car who tried to drive away but crashed.
The man then allegedly tried to run away but was chased down by police. When officers confronted the man, he had a gun and officers fired.
Police confirm the man was injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital. His medical status has not been released.
No officers were injured.
