UPDATE: Police said that a man charged at officers with a knife, prompting them to open fire on him on Christmas night.

The man’s condition is still unknown, but he was taken to the hospital.

Police were originally responding to a family disturbance call.

“All of a sudden I heard like six gunshots and I was unaware of what that was,” said Cisqo Rodriguez, a neighbor. “And I got kind of scared a little bit.”

The two officers involved in the shooting are on administrative leave as multiple agencies investigate the shooting, which is normal procedure for officer involved shootings.
