Crime

The man who attacked a couple in front of their grandchildren is a trained MMA fighter and has a criminal past.

According to El Paso County records, Marco Huerta has served probation for charges of stalking, assault, criminal mischief and interference with an emergency telephone call.

A profile on sherdog.com list Marco Huerta, with the same age and height as the man arrested, with a 2-1 MMA record.

A Daily 4 MMA video of one of his fights has an interview at the end where blood was still trickling down his forehead.

Police say Huerta attacked a 57-year-old man as he opened the gate to his home, by stabbing and punching him. When the man’s 56-year-old wife tried to stop him, Huerta allegedly knocked her down and stomped and kicked her in the head.

This all happened in front of the couple’s grandchildren, police said.
