EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The man who allegedly hid a camera in the bathroom of Cielo Vista Mall pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in federal court on Thursday.

Irving Marquez, 30, was sentenced to 20 years in prison by U.S. District Judge David C. Guaderrama on Thursday. Marquez had pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography on Aug. 22, 2018.

He must also pay $3,200 in restitution to four victims and be placed under supervised release once his prison term is complete.

According to the Department of Justice, Marquez had images and videos of child pornography on his Flickr account, as well as his computer and cell phones. Forensics investigators found hundreds of videos and images of children engaging in sexual activity.

Marquez is set to go on trial in state court on July 31 for possession of child pornography, an invasive visual recording of a bathroom and indecency with a child by sexual contact.

He allegedly hid a camera inside the family restroom of Cielo Vista Mall on April 22, about a month after federal investigators were given a tip about his Flickr account.
