Police said a man bled to death after he cut himself while trying to break into a Central El Paso home.

A homeowner called police at about 5:22 p.m. on Nov. 6 after they found signs of a break in and blood at their house, in the 3000 block of Copper. Officers arrived and found the body of a man, the El Paso Police Department said in a news release.

Investigators said the man cut his arms on a broken window as he allegedly tried to break in and was not able to stop the bleeding. He died on the scene.

The man was identified as Javier Tellez, Jr., police said.
