Man arrested in string of Central El Paso robberies

A man is in jail in connection with three aggravated robberies in Central El Paso last month.

According to a news release, Jesus Bernal, 56, allegedly robbed the following businesses at gunpoint:

  • March 8: Oasis Restaurant (3524 Pershing)
  • March 12: Casares Burritos (6211 Airport)
  • March 26: Poco Loco Discount Store (3316 Fort Blvd)

Police say investigators recognized Bernal from surveillance footage and later arrested him on the 3700 block of La Luz.

Bernal was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for three counts of Aggravated Robbery, and one count of Evading Arrest.

He is being held under a $300,750 bond.
