Man allegedly steals batteries of Northeast El Paso business vans

Police detectives need your help finding a man accused of damaging and burglarizing several business vehicles in Northeast El Paso earlier this month.

According to a news release, the first incident happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 2 at the Hassle Free Locksmith located at 9537 Dyer.

Officials say the man went up to the business vehicle, opened the hood, and stole the van’s battery. He was later seen cutting a hole in the gas tank and draining the gasoline into a bucket.

According to the release, the second incident happened during the overnight hours of Oct. 13 at the Fairbanks Day Care located at 5320 Fairbanks.

Investigators say the man entered the business parking area and stole the batteries of four vans.

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic man with tattoos on both arms and a receding hairline. He was seen wearing glasses, a gray shirt, denim jeans, and dark shoes.

The man reportedly drove away in a light-colored Honda Civic.
