A Lower Valley massage parlor was shut down by the El Paso County Attorney’s Office on Friday after several years of alleged illegal activity.

The County Attorney’s Nuisance Abatement Team received several complaints about the VIP Spa and Massage parlor, located at 1155 N. Zaragoza Rd, Suite B106, from Commissioner Carlos Leon and other residents.

Over the course of several months, the business had several documented violations including: operating without a license, employment of unlicensed therapists, people living at the business, message therapists dressed in a sexually provocative manner and complaints of inappropriate touching during the massage.

The County Attorney used the violations to seek a restraining order, which was approved on Thursday by Judge Maros Lizarraga in the 168th District Court.

The massage parlor was closed on Friday and will remain closed until at least Nov. 28, when the court hears evidence.
