FBI investigating after shots fired at on-duty Border Patrol agent; reward offered

The El Paso FBI needs your help finding those responsible for firing gunshots at a Border Patrol agent while on duty Thursday evening.

According to a news release, the incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on the Loop 375 Border Highway near the Bridge of the Americas.

Officials say the agent was traveling east on the Border Highway in his marked vehicle when the “unknown perpetrators” fired a gun from a passing vehicle.

The El Paso FBI is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI El Paso office at 915-832-5000 or online at tips.fbi.gov. All tips can be anonymous.
