EPCSO: Teens attempt to steal vehicle parts while owner was watching

Two teenagers are in custody for allegedly attempting to steal parts from a vehicle parked outside a Far East El Paso home.

According to a news release, it happened on Sunday at the 13100 block of Grand River.

Officials say Salvador Quezada-Castro, 18, and Jonathan Cardoza, 19, were dismantling the vehicle when its owner approached them and called 911.

A later investigation revealed that the homeowner was inside the entire time and could see and hear everything the suspects were doing, according to the release.

Quezada-Castro was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Burglary of Vehicle and Poss of Marij <2oz., while Cardoza was booked for Burglary of Vehicle.
