UPDATE: After a couple hours police were able to make contact with the subject.

The El Paso Police Department said that an 88-year-old man had hit some trash cans, not shot a gun.

The SWAT team was called when the man refused to speak to police during the investigation.

“At this time we have no criminal offense against anyone in the neighborhood so we decided to make a report and document the incident and clear the scene,” said Sgt. Robert Gomez, police spokesman.
