El Paso man arrested in Central El Paso murder, where victim was stabbed ‘several’ times

An El Paso man has been arrested in connection with the slaying of another man Saturday. 

Daniel Acevedo Jr., 27, was arrested in suspicion of murder, the El Paso Police Department said Monday in a news release. 

Acevedo was arrested after Ricardo Campa, 30, was found “stabbed several times” at around 11:44 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Glenwood. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died.

The police department’s Crimes Against Persons unit investigated the crime.

Acevedo was booked into The El Paso County Detention Facility on a $1 million bond.
