El Paso Anti-Gang team arrests man in Northeast El Paso home

A 35-year-old man was arrested by the El Paso Police Department’s Gang unit and West Texas Anti-Gang Center.

Mark Anthony Mares, 35, was arrested at about 6 a.m. on Feb. 26 at a house in the 5700 block of Lexington, a news release from the El Paso Police Department said.

Mares had outstanding warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and failure to identify a fugitive, intent to give false information.

Once a search warrant for Mares was executed, officers also found seven baggies of marijuana, weighing 3.28 ounces, and four pieces of heroin, weighing 5.9 grams.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $63,500.
