Police said drugs usage and an argument led to a stabbing that killed a 21-year-old man in Central El Paso on Tuesday night.

Carlos Alberto Elias, 21, was stabbed to death at about 8:37 p.m. in the 1000 block of Nevada.

Police said the investigation revealed that the people inside a home were using drugs when an argument broke out and Elias was stabbed.

Elias was taken to University Medical Center where he died, police said.

The investigation by the Crimes Against Persons unit is still ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available, police said. Police did not say if a suspect has been arrested or if one is being sought.

KTSM will update the story as it develops.
