Driver sought in deadly Northeast El Paso hit-and-run


Police need your help finding the driver responsible for hitting and killing a pedestrian in Northeast El Paso overnight.

According to a news release, the incident happened just after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Dyer and Sun Valley.

Police say the pedestrian, Juan Manuel Pasillas, 47, did not have a walking signal when a car hit him.

The vehicle, a light-colored sedan, failed to stop and immediately drove away.

According to police, a second vehicle ran over Pasillas shortly thereafter. He died at the scene.

Officials say the victim was accompanied by two other pedestrians at the time of the collision, but they too left the scene.

The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigators are looking for the hit-and-run driver and the two other pedestrians.

This is the second traffic death of the year.
