El Paso Crimestoppers’ “Crime of the Week” is actually two crimes this week. In both cases, a convenience store clerk was threatened at knifepoint in robberies by the same suspect less than half a mile apart on Dyer Street.

The first robbery happened at 1:41 a.m. on Monday, April 22 at the Seven-Eleven store located at 4413 Dyer at Taylor Avenue. In the first robbery, the man demanded money and cigarettes from the store clerk while holding them at knifepoint. The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money and four packs of Marlboro menthol smooth cigarettes.

The following day, at 2:16 a.m. the same suspect entered the Circle K Store located at 3900 Dyer at Jefferson Avenue, just six blocks south of the first robbery. Again, the suspect threatened the clerk with a knife and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

In both robberies, the man fled from the area south on Dyer Street. Anyone with information on the violent offender is asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477. You can also report information online at www.crimestoppersofelpaso.org
