The body of a man was found in an arroyo Tuesday morning with signs of trauma, the Las Cruces Police Department said.

A cleanup crew with the City of Las Cruces found the body at about 11 a.m. March 5 in an arroyo the runs underneath Lohman Avenue near Del Monte Street, a police news release said.

“The body has signs of trauma and his death does not appear to be natural,” the release said.

The investigation has a portion of Del Monte closed, but Lohman Avenue should not be affected, police said.

Anyone with information on the man that was found dead is asked to call police at 575-526-0795.
