3 separate cases, 3 arrested by El Paso Police on weapons charges

Three men were arrested by El Paso Police in three separate cases and all three of them are now facing weapons charges.

The first person arrested as Angel Ontiveros Tovar, 35, at about 12:12 a.m. on March 23.

Police said officers responded to a prowler in the 600 block of Kansas. They found Tovar and he ran from officers and tried to get rid a Crown Royal bag that had a .380 handgun and four rounds. 

Tovar is facing charges of evading arrest or detention and unlawful carrying of a weapon. 

The second man arrested was Ryan Shaquille Charles, 25, at about 12:29 a.m. March 24 in the 500 block of Lisbon.

Police were responding to a shots fired call and with the help of DPS, they found the vehicle involved. Charles was identified as the person who shot the gun and is facing a discharge of a firearm charge. Police found a .380 Smith and Wesson handgun.

The final arrested was Roman Vasquez, 27, at about 5:36 a.m. on March 24 in the 2800 block of Nations. Police encountered him while responding to a subject with a gun call. Police said Vasquez had marijuana, a glass pipe, a Smith and Wesson revolver, and six rounds of ammunition.

Vasquez is facing possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon charges. 

All three were booked into the El Paso County Jail.
