Officials have released the names of the suspects who were allegedly involved in “illegal activity” before leading Texas DPS troopers on a pursuit Friday afternoon.
A DPS spokesperson identified the driver as Damien Arce, 34.
Arce was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing, fleeing to evade arrest by vehicle and on foot, assault on a police officer, and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1.
According to DPS, the passenger, Jeremy Lamont Horn, 26, of Alabama was also arrested. He was charged with possession of marijuana, manufacture or delivery of controlled substance penalty group 1, evading arrest on foot, and criminal trespassing.
Two people involved in “criminal activity” are in custody after leading Texas DPS troopers on a pursuit Friday afternoon.
According to a Texas DPS spokesperson, undercover El Paso police officers were observing the suspects inside a vehicle in Northeast El Paso at about 2 p.m.
Officials say the officers then requested support from a DPS aircraft, asking it to follow the vehicle until agents on the ground could stop it.
A trooper then responded and attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver refused to stop and continued to flee.
The vehicle eventually stopped, but the occupants then both got out and ran away. The pair was later caught and detained.
