137 combined pounds of meth, marijuana seized during traffic stop

El Paso County sheriff’s deputies arrested two men after seizing more than 130 pounds of drugs during a traffic stop in East El Paso County.

According to a news release, deputies pulled over an SUV 13200 block of Socorro Road after it failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.

During a search of the vehicle, the San Elizario Deputy Marshal discovered 77 pounds of methamphetamine and 57 pounds of marijuana inside.

Antonio Perez, 38, and Raul Enrique Garcia, 56, were then taken into custody.

Upon executing a subsequent search warrant at a home localed on the 1000 block of Oscar Chacon, detectives later seized an additional nine ounces of marijuana.

Perez and Garcia were both booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Man/Del CS PG 1>=400G, Possession of Marijuana >50lbs4oz<5lbs.
