One West El Paso playground unveiled its new improvements, including some special additions for children of all abilities.

Thorn Park, located at 5300 Mace St., showcased its new accommodations at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday.

Officials say the additions include a new all-ability playground with a rubber surface, fabric canopy, swing set, renovated basketball court, new trees, and more.

“The project is part of the City’s commitment to enhance the quality of life for residents, business and visitors through the creation of recreational, cultural and educational environments,” city officials wrote in a news release.

The improvements were funded by Community Development Block Grant funds.
