LAS CRUCES, NM (KTSM) – The Las Cruces community is celebrating the birthday of a longtime elementary school crossing guard.

Stan Infante, who helps students cross the streets from Valley View Elementary School, recently turned 99 years old, according to a Facebook post.

Las Cruces Police say Infante has been a crossing guard for the department since 2003 and is still going strong today.

“The men and women of LCPD wish Stan a very happy birthday and extend our gratitude for his many years of dedicated service,” the department wrote in the post.

Officials say Infante is among 43 school crossing guards employed by the Las Cruces Police Department.

Happy birthday!
