El Paso and Ysleta ISD families affected by the ongoing government shutdown may be eligible for free and reduced-priced school meals.
According to EPISD, parents can fill out a new meal application that reflects the current household income.
YISD is also encouraging parents to reapply for its Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
According to YISD, a qualifying family of four must earn less than $46,435 a year for reduced-price meals, or less than $32,630 for free meals.
Officials say breakfast is already free for all YISD students this school year.
