Neon Desert Music Festival takes over downtown El Paso_70060193

Neon Desert Music Festival could be moving away from San Jacinto Plaza this year.

Officials with Destination El Paso told City Council the new proposed site is closer to the area near City Hall and Hotel Indigo.

Destination El Paso says the move would keep the event in Downtown El Paso while limiting the impact on businesses in the area.

Officials add that the proposed site would also make sure that the streetcar could remain operational during the festival.

As KTSM previously reported, the Neon Desert will take place on May 25 and 26. The lineup includes Wiz Khalifa, Steve Aoki, and Tyga.
