El Paso named 2019 ‘All-America City’ finalist

El Paso could be named an “All-America City” for the second year in a row.

The Sun City is among 20 finalists in the running to earn the distinction.

Officials say the award honors inclusive city engagement techniques that promote healthy communities.

As KTSM reported, El Paso previously won in 1969, 2010, and 2018.

In December, the city built new welcome signs at five city limit entrances that reflect the designation. “Welcome to El Paso, Texas an All-America City”, the signs read.

This year’s winner will be announced in June.
