The El Paso Chihuahuas made a surprise visit to the children at the Hospitals of Providence.
Chico and several other members of the team spent time with little ones and their families Thursday morning.
The team posed for photos and signed autographs to help bring smiles to the hospital’s littlest patients.
Chris Stewart, the team’s catcher, says the experience is just as rewarding for the team as it is for the kids.
“The best thing is that they give back to us as much as we give back to them,” Stewart told KTSM. “We’re having a great day, they’re having a great day. It’s just a great day for the entire community.”
Hospital staff say these visits help to make the kids feel special and a part of the community.
