Dogs die, puppies rescued during Downtown El Paso apartment fire

Two dogs have died, and three puppies were rescued, during an apartment fire in Downtown El Paso on Tuesday.

According to the El Paso Fire Department, the condition 1 fire broke out inside the apartment located at 700 Missouri.

Officials say the adult dogs died from smoke inhalation. Fortunately, firefighters were able to safely rescue the puppies.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by an electrical outlet in a bedroom.

Damage is estimated at $10,000, according to the fire department.
