A new “destination” park is officially coming to Far East El Paso!

The City held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday morning for the Eastside Regional Park, which will be located at 13501 Jason Crandall off Rich Beem and Montana.

The park will sit on a 92-acre plot, but the first phase of construction will be on 10 acres.

It will include the region’s only public indoor 50-meter competition-ready pool, a community center, neighborhood water park, gym, computer center, and other amenities.

The pool will include one and three-meter diving boards, a training room, and a warm-up and cool-down area.

The water park will also feature a family pool, water slides, climbing wall, artificial wave-surfing, lazy river, and more.

“This new park is going to be a major regional attraction for residents and visitors alike,” City of El Paso Capital Improvement Department Director Sam Rodriguez said.

The first phase is expected to be completed in 2020.
