Trevor Thompson

Trevor Thompson is the morning and noon anchor at KTSM 9 News and is always ready to share the stories that matter to you and your loved ones.

Having lived and worked in several places, Trevor has found a home in the Sun City and embraced all that the Borderland has to offer.  He’s never found a place with people as kind, caring, and welcoming as those he’s met in his time in the El Paso/Las Cruces area.

Trevor previously worked as the sports director at KVIA for three-and-a-half years covering anything and everything involving UTEP, NMSU, the Chihuahuas, El Paso Locomotive FC, and high school sports.

Before working in El Paso, Trevor was a news reporter at the NBC affiliate in Las Vegas, primarily focused on covering breaking news in the mornings.

He has also worked for the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, California, where he won an Emmy Award for his report on the dangers of swimming in a local river.

Trevor was born in Burbank, California, and spent his college years at the University of Southern California, where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism.  Fight on!

You might encounter Trevor on a local basketball court or paying a visit to a coffeehouse in town.  If you do, feel free to say hello (or buy his coffee if you’re feeling generous – just kidding).

There’s also a chance you’ll see him on a hike one day enjoying the serenity of Dripping Springs or the tranquility atop Mount Cristo Rey.  If his eyes are closed, he might be meditating or he might just be a little sleepy, so feel free to wake him up.

Don’t hesitate to email him your story ideas at tthompson@ktsm.com.
