Celina Renae Quintana is the Morning Weather Forecaster for KTSM 9 News Today.
Celina is a native El Pasoan born in the Sun City in 1995. She was raised as an east sider, graduating from J.M. Hanks High School in 2014.
In college, Celina was studying to pursue a career in pharmacy when she was inspired by a professor to join the journalism community.
Her dream to become a war reporter overseas soared and within a week Celina made to decision to make a big change and became a Journalism and Mass Communications student.
During her time with New Mexico State University, she was involved with the local PBS station KRWG News 22. There she fell into the best of both worlds as was able to report and learn the ropes of weather forecasting.
While in school she interned at local stations in El Paso.
Celina graduated from NMSU as a Crimson Scholar in the summer of 2018. By the fall she was hired as KTSM’s new Weekend Weather Forecaster and weekday reporter.
She began her schooling for meteorology in the summer of 2019 with Mississippi State University’s Geosciences department.
In the summer of 2020 Celina then moved to the weekday morning weather forecaster position.
During her time with KTSM, she has been a part of the Weather Authorities Team and its projects created by Chief Meteorologist, Monica Cortez.
