Just in time for the cold winter months, a local company is holding a giveaway to help someone in need. Window World is replacing the windows of one deserving person. And they're doing it through our website ktsm.com.

"It was just kind of close to my heart to do something like this," said Window World owner Kevin Tubbs.

Tubbs is hoping to brighten the holidays for someone in need by giving them new windows for their home. "They're going to be our standard double-paned, fully insulated, fully meets all Texas code," said Kevin. "The actual frame is more than 3 quarter inches and most of your old style aluminum windows are only 2 and 5/8ths inches with a single-pane glass."

Kevin says he decided to do the giveaway to show his gratitude to the Borderland for supporting his business for the past three years and because he knows many homes have outdated windows. "The biggest issue, we see a lot of the old, old 1950s steel-casement windows, single pane glass. They can't open them or if they can, they can't get them closed. They're drafty and they totally leak energy out of the house. "

Window world is giving away up to 12 windows for the giveaway worth up to $4,000. And as the slogan goes, "We don't just stand behind our windows. We stand on them" and that's why these come with a lifetime warranty."

The windows will not only save energy but they also have some modern features. "One of the standard features of ours is this half screen so that you can actually slide the screen over to the opening part if you want or if there's some reason you want the air completely, you can have the air entirely," he said.

Kevin says window world tries to give back as much as it can... and the timing for this giveaway seemed just right. "This is the colder season here. You see the most benefit in January. It kind of ties in with the holiday giving spirit," said Kevin. "I'm glad to be able to be here. I'm glad to be able to do something like this. "

To enter the giveaway, you have to type a document telling Window World why you need and or deserve the new windows. Then go to the following link on our website http://www.ktsm.com/window-world-give-back-campaign-register-to-win-wind... Fillout the information and upload your letter. Good luck!

Dear Window World: My name is Maggie Soto and I write to you on behalf of my father, a WWII Veteran and is 92 years old with COPD and is on oxygen at night . His home was built back in the 1950's and is in desperate need of new windows. At present the windows are shut with duck tape cause they don't open or close since the handle doesn't work. My mother's death left a financial burden on him. He would be greatly humbled to get new windows, and so would I. Thank you for your kindness.

She is currently suffering from panic attacks and drepression and other medical conditions.

Dear Windows World,
Each winter my mom complains about the drafty orignal windows on their 52 year old home. My parents are wonderful people, but they wait too long each year to do anything about the windows. By the time they start to think about them the snow is starting to fly. I think it is hard for my dad to think about replacment anything becasue he built the house when I was 2 years old. If you could help them, I would be forever grateful as I know they would be too.

Dear Window World, I would like to nominate 24year old Michael Ornelas, his home is in desperate need of windows. The windows in his home are old and some are broken, allowing the cold air in. Michael has struggled all his life with partial paralyses; he is legally blind and has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Rasmussen Encephalitis, and had to have half of his brain removed. His only source of income is SSI,so it would be impossible for him to afford somthing like this on his own.

Window World,
It is an amazing and wonderful thing you all at Window World are doing for one lucky someone during this time of year. I think it is awesome to give someone hope to somehow win something that they themselves can't fix nor have the funds to do it with. I would love to nominate my mom for this drawing and hope that she wins. I understand that there are many, many families that are deserving of this gesture but for once I would love to see my mother not have to worry about being cold

I live in a old house in the middle of the old neighborhood of El Paso Texas between alameda and paisano streets. I live with my wife and 4 kids. The constant vibrations of the mexico trucks that cross to mexico have damaged my home roof and windows. We are a proud mexican american family, I served in the Gulf war, but with a large family and several bills to pay. Plus a home that is very old i would really like to be given a chance to ask for this kind of assistance. Thank you and God Bless.

Dear Window World,My name is Melissa Munoz and I am nominating my mom. My mom has been a single parent for 12 years now. The home my mom lives in now was my grandparents and we moved in to take care of my grandfather when my grandmother passed away 16 years ago. The home needs alot of work, air comes in through the gaps of the windows causing the curtains to move, when really windy the windows sound like they are going to fall off, please help her if you could only see the house you'd understand.

Also I'd like to add that if I entered my letter and registered late, keep in mind that I'm still looking for a job I'm great for office assistance and have experience. Thank you.

Window World, I am nominating my cousin (her home) for the window giveaway. It has recently become necessary for her to move back to El Paso to care for her ailing father. Due to the move, she lost her only vehicle, a great paying job, and is now working part-time to meet the needs of her father, her children, and herself. Her home is in dire need of repair and a new set of windows would definitely pave the way. Please help her warm up her home while she concentrates on needs of her family.

So please help Her!!! Her 14 year old and 5 Year old would love this gift more than you can imagine. She just wants to keep her girls warm. So i just ask to please keep her in mind!! If you were to meet her, you would see what a great person she is. I know for sure that if you were to see her house, you would be so happy to have replaced the windows, because she REALLY NEEDS THEM. SO i don't know how you pick the person, but if you were to see her house, and the lovely people they are, they'd W

My Father is a WWII Veteran, and my mother worked on Fort Bliss to support the war effort. He was selected by UT Austin's Hispanic studies to document his war story in history. Their home was built in 1958 and is in desperate need of window replacement. The windows are single pane and are not sealed correctly thus allowing cold air to enter and warm air to escape. Some widows are cracked and some sealed shut posing a safety hazard. My 90 year old parents are on a fixed budget and need help

Dear Window World, My name is Becky Bernal, the reason I write to you is because I would like to nominate my friend Silvia Ibanez, for the windows. Sylvia is a very close friend of mine. Sylvia is a loving and caring person. She is a single mother of two. She struggles every day to clothe her girls and put food on the table. She lives in a old house her parents built before they past away. The house needs a lot of work. Her house is very cold from the bad insulation and the cracks on the walls.
