Weather Changes Ahead

Weather seems to be on track for change after a couple of hot days in the Borderland. Expect heat today and tomorrow before a sharp cool down across the Western United States. We're tracking an upper level system that will bring some of the coolest air of the season so far to our friends in the central and northern Rockies. For us temps will cool back to near normal. Several indicators have pointed the Climate Prediction Center to put us in the below normal temp range for the remaining 1st half of October. Not shown above is the precipitation outlook for Texas and New Mexico, showing us having a 40% chance of above normal precipitation through October 12th. It's likely subtropical moisture will return to the region, giving us showery weather early next week.
