A significant storm system, which has been bringing rain to the Borderland last two days, will bring a good chance for the first accumulating snow in El Paso in over 2 years. I'll keep this one short since I'm on vacation. A series of storm systems have been bringing heavy rain and thunder to the region since Friday. A cold front has pushed some freezing air in our direction. This strong system will allow for snow across West Texas and Southern New Mexico to develop tonight through tomorrow night. Here are some possible snow totals from the El Paso National Weather Service Office: El Paso County: 2-5 inches, higher amounts near mountains, NE El Paso, and East El Paso. Dona Ana County: 1-3 inches, including Las Cruces, near mountains higher amounts. By Tuesday afternoon this storm will be out of here and things will quiet down. Expect dry and slowly warming weather the rest of the work week. This is a changing weather situation, keep it tuned to Newschannel 9 for the latest.
