If you thought December was chilly, well it was! Area temperatures ran below normal on the order of about a degree and a half. A chilly month was paired up with one of the more active winter regimes in a while. Snow was recorded on 4 days last month and we totaled almost 6 inches of snow for December. Rain was recorded on three days as well and in total we ended up about "normal" in the precip department for the month. No doubt the increased winter weather was partially caused by an active El Niño.
