Isolated Storms Late Friday, More Numerous Storms this Weekend
Area storms dotted the borderland Friday night as heavy rain fall over the area mountains. There was a brief storm around Vinton and Canutillo but most of El Paso just got some gusty winds and the smell of rain. The were two rounds of thunderstorms rolled through Las Cruces dumping .05" to 33" of needed rainfall.
The upper level high, currently to our north, will shift westward next week with a strong upper low over the upper Midwest bringing down a significant trough which could be the focus for more widespread heavy rain starting the middle of next week.
Temperatures will continue to be near normal through early next week with a cool down next week with a cold front backing in from the northeast.
I will give you a closer look tonight at 5, 6, 6:30 and 10 P.M... on NewsChannel 9.
