A Couple more days of rain before we dry out just in time for Labor Day Weekend!

Wednesday, August 27, 2014 - 10:41am

There is still plenty of extra tropical moisture and unstable air over the Borderland again today.  Still waiting on an upper level trough tracking through later today to spark off even more area showers and thunderstorms. Some storms will still have the capability of dumping an inch or more of rainfall, small hail and producing 40 to 50+mph down burst winds. into the nighttime hours.

Westerly winds and a ridge of high pressure building over the southwest will help dry pout our air mass and heat the late day temperatures up into our Labor Day weekend.

Most of the late day isolated thunderstorms will be confined to the area mountains. Rain chances return the lowlands next Tuesday into Wednesday.
