Lot's of weather to talk about this week, so let's get to it. We start locally, where we are expecting a continued uptick in rain and storm activity through about Thursday afternoon. Monsoon moisture will bring daily rounds of afternoon and evening thunderstorm chances, much like what we saw this weekend. Here is today's 06z Microcast model:


And once again Steven Green has sent in an excellent photo of lightning he caught with Sunday night's El Paso storms.


Lastly, we check out the latest on soon to be Hurricane Alex. The storm system churning through the Gulf of Mexico promises to bring big rain and winds to parts of the Gulf Coast. Direct impacts look to be across Mexico and deep South Texas, putting South Padre Island and the lower Rio Grande Valley on the line. Below are the morning stats on this storm system.
