Big winds again for the Borderlands yesterday and for the last few days. Numerous damage reports thanks to a massive upper level storm we told you about earlier this week. The highest wind gusts were reported at San Augustin Pass at 95 miles per hour during the Thursday afternoon. Above is a list of peak gusts reported at local area airports. Blowing dust moved in by mid to late morning yesterday and stuck around into the evening hours. Winds stayed up through the Thursday night as a cold front blasted into the region. Weather will be cool for today with continued gusty weather for the weekend. Temperatures will be running almost 20 degrees below normal today. Our upper level trough will spin in a few more pieces of energy, keeping us cool and breezy. We may even squeeze out some rain through Saturday evening.
By next week we could be talking about the first 90 degree temperatures of 2010. Keep it tuned to Newschannel Nine for the latest. You can also follow us on twitter: http://twitter.com/NC9Weather
