The El Paso National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for El Paso and Southern New Mexico from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

A cold front is expected to arrive in the Borderland with strong easterly winds from 25-35 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH. Stronger winds will exist over the western mountain slopes and the adjacent lowlands of the Franklin, Hueco, San Andres and Organ Mountains.

Driving may become difficult for high profile vehicles around the area and blowing dust may reduce visibility and make driving conditions difficult.

Cold air will accompany the windy front, dropping temperatures around the area to an estimated high on Thursday in the mid to upper 40's and a few degrees cooler on Friday.
