EL PASO- Superheroes and a WWE superstar made a special appearance at an East El Paso fire station for a good cause. El Paso Native Vickie Guerrero was on hand at "Operation Super Hero" at Fire Station # 19 on McCrae. The event, organized by "Operation Hope", was collecting food and canned goods for families in our area.
In between meeting fans, signing autographs and taking pictures, we had a chance to talk with Vickie , who told us how much she loves her hometown.
She travels the country and the world as one of the most hated villains of WWE, managing United States champion Dolph Ziggler and superstar Jack Swagger. But El Paso fans got to see another side of Vickie Guerrero today.
"Big fan of Vickie Guerrero. She is an amazing person, not unlike the character she plays on TV. You see her out here talking to the kids and talking pretty much to El Paso," said 92.3 the Fox morning DJ Victor Cruz, who was covering the event.
"We’re here for Operation Superhero to help the families in need of new and used toys and donations to help with their meals this holiday season," said Vickie.
Vickie signed autographs with her signature catch phrase "excuse me".
"Is she watching? Excuse me!!!," said Victor screaming out the catch phrase.
"The fans are incredible. It's so funny that they say they don't boo me but I know they do," said Vickie.
"I like booing her. The one thing I like, the one that makes me laugh the most, is when she gets kicked out of the ring and they send her back to the back. That's funny to me because it frustrates her even more," said Victor.
Being the bad guy is something Vickie loves. Her husband the late Eddie Guerrero was a villain as well. "To be a bad guy was so natural. Eddie was a bad guy for many years and I think just watching him for many year it just kind of got into my system. I can't be a good guy," said Vickie.
Vickie says she's excited that WWE is coming back to the Borderland at the Pan Am Center. "All the great superstars are going to be there. I'll be there with Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger and come see us so you can boo me," said Vickie. "Excuse me El Paso, see you January 22nd."
