UTEP Football Anxious to Start '10 Season
EL PASO - With the kickoff of the 2010 UTEP Miner football season just hours away, excitement in El Paso has reached a fever pitch.
The team, and fans, also got good news Thursday when they found out the knee injury to National Player of the Year candidate Donald Buckram was not serious. MRI's showed there was no ligament damage. However, Buckram is currently listed as a game time decision for the season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
The team will still be without senior wide receiver Evan Davis who is serving the first of his two game suspension.
Even with the possibility of missing two offensive weapons, Senior Linebacker Anthony Morrow is still confident of the success that is ahead of this team.
"I've never felt this way about a team that we've had here in the past. We're just excited to get out and show everyone what we are about this year."
Head coach Mike Price wants Miner fans to know they are in for something special.
"It's going to be a great year. There is plenty of room on the bandwagon so jump on right now," Price said speaking candidly to fans.
So gear up because it all gets started tomorrow night at seven p.m. in the Sun Bowl.
