I STRONGLY agree with Sex Education in schools. In case some viewers haven't looked into the topic, Texas is ranked in the top 5 U.S states with the highest teenage pregnancy rate. In college I did a research paper on teens having sex and the affects (teenage pregnancy and STD's)and had the privaledge to interview a few teenagers. Most had similar stories, they had very little or no sex education. What little they did have, they had heard from their friends or from watching television. I interviewed a few teen mothers and they mainly said that they believed that if they had had more knowledge they would have waited. I also interviewed a teenager that received genital warts from her first sexual partner and kept it a secret from her parents until it went into an advanced stage. Most also said that they couldn't talk to their parents because their parents would accuse them of wrong doing. Not to make this story much longer, my point is that some kids don't know how to talk with their parents about Sex and Std's so most are relieved to hear from it at school!
