Keagan Harsha News Anchor
Keagan Harsha is no stranger to border states. He grew up in the small town of Columbus, Montana, and began his broadcast journalism career just down the road at the NBC affiliate in Billings, Montana. After three years there, he then spent five years working as an anchor/reporter at the CBS affiliate in Burlington, Vermont. Keagan is now excited to be living along the southern border here in El Paso with his wife and 2-year-old son.
Keagan loves telling the stories of people in the community and has received numerous honors for his work, including several Edward R. Murrow awards for outstanding reporting. In Montana, he was recognized for his continuing coverage of the state's historic 2006 wildfire season. In Vermont, Keagan produced an award winning series called "Destination Recreation." Highlights included bobsledding at the Olympic training facility in Lake Placid, New York, river surfing in Montreal, Canada, and skiing behind a horse in New Hampshire.
When he's not at work, Keagan can most likely be found exploring the great outdoors. He's an avid hiker and has trudged his way to the highpoints of 13 states. He and his family have also visited 20 National Parks. One of the things Keagan likes best about the Borderland is its proximity to outdoor adventure. His favorite local destinations include White Sands National Monument, Hueco Tanks, Carslbad Caverns, and the Gila National Forest.
Keagan's other passion is sports. He graduated with honors from the University of Montana and is a proud Grizzly football fan. However, he doesn't limit his sports allegiance to the Grizzlies. Keagan is an avid sports fan and to his wife's annoyance, spends much of his time cheering on the Colorado Rockies in the summer, and the Dallas Cowboys in the winter. He says one of the perks of living in El Paso is being so close to other Cowboys fans (and of course, the Mexican food).
