I was born in Los Angeles, California, where my career in Journalism began. I attended the University of California in San Diego and was a member of Associated Students, Delta Gamma Sorority and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. I started as an assistant to an agent at Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles. Then I worked as a freelance writer at the KNSD NBC station in San Diego prior to arriving in El Paso to join KTSM. Fortunately, my family is from here…El Paso feels like home! My mother's side of the family is from the Borderland.

I chose this career because I grew up watching local news with my family. My dad worked at the Los Angeles Times and I was always in awe of the reporters at daddy daughter day. I love to write…and don’t mind deadlines..was always up against them in college! I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. My favorite ones are those with emotional, human elements but I especially like stories with an investigative edge to them.

When I'm not working at the station, I try to work out, eat a lot of my grandma’s awesome cooking, Skype with friends and try to go out around town and get to know the city.
