Fred Albers is a St. Louis native and holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri. He has been in the El Paso market since 1980 and a part of the KTSM team since January 1992. 

Fred's first TV sportscast was in May of 1977 for KOMU-TV, and since then, he has delivered more than 15,000 sportscasts in El Paso alone. 
During his career, Fred also worked for ESPN and the PGA Tour Network, which he currently broadcasts more than 20 events each season. He has even had the honor of giving the play-by-play at The Masters, U.S. Open and PGA Championship.
Through sportscasting and golf assignments, he has been in every state except North Dakota, South Dakota and Alaska. 

Some notable events Fred has covered on his travels, which include Europe and Asia, are: the Kentucky Derby, Super Bowls, World Series, NCAA Basketball Tournaments,  NCAA Bowl Games and the British Open.

Fred has been inducted in the El Paso Golf Hall of Fame and the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame. He's also honored to be awarded Best Sportscast in New Mexico, Best Sports Report in Texas and numerous "Best of El Paso."
He loves the people of El Paso most, as well as living next door to another country, which allows him to experience a different culture on a daily basis.
