No Police Furloughs
There will be no police furloughs.
Late Friday the police union voted overwhelmingly in favor of accepting the city's proposal.
City Council had asked the union to shave more than 400,000 thousand dollars from its budget or they would be forced to take up to three furlough days.
Officers were supposed to get a two percent raise come September.
The city asked them to hold off on half of that raise for ten months.
That money will go to funding a second police academy next year.
